FROM EVIDENCE TO DISCOVERY

A question brings
people together.

A paper changes the conversation. A specialist sees a gap. A research team asks what comes next. Hybrid Discovery connects those moments through collaboration, custody and specific permission.

FICTIONAL RECOVERY-STUDY SCENARIO
How do recovery patterns differ after surgery?
Two hypothetical institutions. Synthetic examples.
No actual study, participants, datasets or clinical results.
Follow the question
  1. CHAPTER 01 / DISCOVERY CLINICAL

Start with a question worth sharing.

Two fictional institutions notice different recovery patterns. Professionals compare the published evidence and discuss a synthetic, anonymized case summary. The first result is a clearer research question, with uncertainty and specialist contributions visible.

    What needs approval
    Professional role and discussion access
    Who is responsible
    Responsible clinical organization

No identifiable case record crosses the institutional boundary. Professional discussion does not authorize a study or AI training.

  2. CHAPTER 02 / DISCOVERY VAULT

    Discover resources. Keep custody local.

Each steward describes a suitable resource, its permitted uses and its limits. Within the originating institution, the required pipeline prepares and validates an anonymized research view before it is eligible for collaboration.

    Required decision
    What needs approval
    Purpose-specific dataset release
    Who is responsible
Originating data custodian and privacy reviewer

A catalog entry grants no access. An incomplete or failed privacy assessment blocks release; removing a name is insufficient.

  3. CHAPTER 03 / DISCOVERY TRIALS

    Invite participation with clear choices.

If the question calls for new follow-up information, a reviewed study explains its activities and requested uses. Contact and re-identification stay with the responsible study site. Participants make specific choices rather than granting blanket access.

    Required decision
    What needs approval
    Study-specific participation and permitted uses
    Who is responsible
    Participant and responsible study team

An anonymous match is not enrollment. Study consent does not open identifiable records to other clinics or authorize unrelated AI training.

  4. CHAPTER 04 / DISCOVERY AI

Analyse approved inputs. Review the result.

A bounded research task uses only the approved anonymized inputs or approved local computation. Reviewers assess the result for scientific quality, individual privacy risk and small-group disclosure before deciding whether it can leave the environment.

    Explore Discovery AI
    Required decision
    What needs approval
    Task authority and output release
    Who is responsible
Research owner, data steward and designated reviewers

Federation and anonymized inputs do not establish model-output privacy. An unreviewed result stays inside the boundary.

WHAT CONNECTS THE CHAPTERS

Continuity of knowledge.
Specific authority.

The collaboration carries the question forward. Each new use still needs its own decision.

01

Identity establishes the participant in the workflow

Hybrid-ID is the intended identity foundation. Qualification, dataset access, study consent and AI-task authority remain separate.

02

The sharing boundary stays anonymized-only

Identifiable records and linkage keys stay at source. A participant’s agreement does not turn them into cross-clinic research material.

03

The result comes back to people

Reviewers evaluate a result, its limitations and its appropriate next use. A research finding is not automatically a validated clinical recommendation.

ADVANCE DISCOVERY TOGETHER

Start small.
Prove the whole boundary.

The first engineering priority is one Vault resource and one bounded collaboration.
